First Day of School

I know that so many of us mothers are ready for our kids to go to school by the time summer is over, but I just don't feel that way. Now don't get me wrong I don't need my kids with me at all times, hey anyone want an extra kid or two or three for a few hours? But I love the freedom of my kids being home, I can go when I need to I can do what needs to be done without having to take and pick them up. But Also I am in charge I know what they are doing and not doing who is influencing them. I have to let them grow up and experience life I know that. I don't let my kids know i want to smother them. but it is so hard to let go sometimes and then to sit and worry. I guess this is just part of being a mom. ( can't they stay little for ever??) OK enough of my mood .

The kids started School yesterday and it went really well. Tommy started the 3rd grade, He is getting so big and grown-up. I know he was quite nervous, poor guy. He is already asking if he can just sleep 5 more minutes. Somethings never change.

Lizzie started the 1st grade, she was so excited so social. Up and ready to go first thing. She had me curl her hair and she picked out her outfit. She is such a light in my life. She got to school found all her friends from last year and didn't need me to stay any longer. She is such a sweet heart with a really big attitude. I really do love her and her attitude.

Now Payton doesn't start until Sept. 8th he is sad he is ready now but we decided to keep him in pre-school one more year, not ready for him to grow up yet and his dad and I feel he will do better being 5 when he starts kindergarten instead of 4. His time will come we tell him and he really does love his pre-school.

So to all who have kids in school good luck on this school year we are all probably going to need it!!

I'm feel the same way as you do! I love my kids being home, and get weepy every year that they get older or start school again. I can't believe how big your kids are getting. Tommy has grown so much! Wow! I think 5 is a better age to start kindergarten-that one year between 4 and 5 makes a huge difference. Sorry I didn't get to chat when I dropped the meal off at your mom's. :(
